Dial : Striking black dial with white Arabic numerals, railway minute track and unusual off-centered small seconds between 4 and 5 o’clock. Its highly distinctive instrument-style design was inspired by the dashboards of Ferrari sports cars.
Bracelet : Black leather strap in virtually new condition with original Patek Philippe white gold buckle.
Accessories : Exceptional Full Set, including original Patek Philippe box, Certificate of Origin dated September 1992, booklets and accessories.
Limited Edition : One of only 1,000 examples produced in white gold between 1992 and 1993.
The Ferrari Story : This is where the 5000G becomes really special. The reference was reportedly born from a proposed collaboration between Patek Philippe and Ferrari in the early 1990s. The partnership ultimately never materialized, but the watch survived. Its black high-contrast dial, graphic Arabic numerals and instrument-like layout were directly inspired by Ferrari dashboards. Collectors have therefore long associated the reference 5000 with this fascinating “Ferrari project that never was”.
